Hosea 10:4-6

⁴ They utter ^(A)mere words;
    with empty oaths they make covenants;
so ^(B)judgement springs up like poisonous weeds
    ^(C)in the furrows of the field.
⁵ The inhabitants of Samaria tremble
    for ^(D)the calf^[a] of ^(E)Beth-aven.
Its people mourn for it, and so do its idolatrous priests—
    those who rejoiced over it and ^(F)over its glory—
    for it has departed^[b] from them.
^6 (G)The thing itself shall be carried to Assyria
    as tribute to ^(H)the great king.^[c]
Ephraim shall be put to shame,
    and Israel shall be ashamed ^(I)of his idol.^[d]
